Florida State releases rosters for spring game

ORLANDO – Florida State has released the rosters for Saturday’s spring game at the Citrus Bowl.

The teams were selected by a draft with two injured players, QB Sean Maguire (Garnet) and CB Marquez White (Gold) helping pick the teams. Coach Jimbo Fisher said the biggest rule being when a player is drafted to one team his backup automatically goes to the opposite side.

Maguire’s Garnet team seems to have the most experience with RB Jacques Patrick, FB Freddie Stevenson, WRs Travis Rudolph and Kermit Whitfield, four of the five projected starters at offensive line (but that does not include the best offensive lineman, Rod Johnson who anchors the Gold’s line), along with defensive starters, DE Josh Sweat, DT Derrick Nnadi, LB Ro’Derrick Hoskins, DBs Derwin James, Nate Andrews and Tarvarus McFadden.

Key players on the Gold team: Johnson, QB Deondre Francois, TE Ryan Izzo, WR Jesus Wilson, DE DeMarcus Walker, DT Demarcus Christmas, LB Matthew Thomas, DBs Trey Marshall and Marcus Lewis
