Going to pick and choose from Warchant’s excellent job keeping us informed when it comes to the 2017 class and updates.

* Guy Thomas, the brother of LB Matthew Thomas is expected to visit FSU soon. Thomas plays at the same school where his brother was one of the top-recruits in the country in 2013, Miami’s Booker T. Washington. He is a three-star recruit and the No. 30 weakside defensive end according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.

* Five-star prospect Khalan Laborn, Rivals’ No. 3 RB and 247Sports composite’s No. 2 all-purpose back, still appears to have Florida State ahead of Virginia Tech. Laborn is from Ocean Lakes High in Virginia Beach, the same school that the highest-rated recruit from this year’s class, CB Levonta Taylor, attends.

* The Seminoles are looking to add receivers behind D.J. Matthews, the lone receiver among the seven 2017 commits thus far. Warchant reports FSU is looking hard at five-star Tee Higgins of Oak Ridge, Tenn., four-star Devonta Smith of Amite, La., and three-star Tyrell Shavers of Lewisville, Texas, whom it offered a week ago.

* Navaughn Donaldson, a four-star offensive tackle from Miami-Central and a Miami commit, is expected to visit this spring and possibly attend Jimbo Fisher’s camp this summer.

Florida State has offered a scholarship to 2020 quarterback Drew Pyne, according to Pyne’s Twitter account.

Pyne, 6-1, 170-pounds, is in the 8th grade and plays for New Canaan Country School.
